The aim of this piece was to experiment with my low poly work further. I wanted to build upon my work with abstract low poly landscapes by moving the aesthetic towards a more realistic feel. I wanted to keep a stylised feel and used a similar render technique to my previous 3D modeling landscape work.
To create this low poly feel made up of differing colors for each polygon, Firstly, I try to reduce the number of polygons in each model I create. Then I will generally use deformers to create some variations of the first model (as you can see with these mushrooms). The texturing of these object relies on each polygon catching the light slightly differently and using an iridescent material so each polygon takes on a different colour.
